Professional Diploma in Plantation Management (PDPM)

The Professional Diploma in Plantation Management (PDPM) is a linking programme that provides a general background to plantation management, with core subjects in estate management, plant production, engineering and soil management integrated with the principles of management and planting systems.


ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

•   Diploma in any discipline; or
•   STPM or its equivalent with three years experience in plantation industry; or
•   SPM or its equivalent with five years experience in plantation industry; or
•   Certificate in Planting Industry Management IIPM or others recognized certificate programme with at least three years working experience.

FOUNDATION STAGE

Module 1 : Communication English
Module 2 : Fundamental of Management
Module 3 : Major Plantation Crops 1
Module 4 : Major Plantation Crops 2
Module 5 : Soil Management in Plantation
Module 6 : Pests & Diseases in Plantation

PRE-PROFESSIONAL STAGE

Module 7 : Information Communication Technology
Module 8 : Estate Accounting
Module 9 : Agriculture Economic
Module 10 : Employment Act & IR OSHA
Module 11 : Weeds and Management in Plantation
Module 12 : Finance Management
Module 13 : Mechanization in Plantation

PROFESSIONAL STAGE

Module 14 : Land Surveying
Module 15 : Post Harvesting Technologies
Module 16 : Industrial Training


PRACTICAL WORK

The PDPM has a six credit hours practical work requirement.

EDUCATION PATHWAY

Upon completion of PDPM, the successful candidate is eligible to pursue the PQE in Planting Industry Management.

COURSE FEE

The course fee for the programme is RM14,860 in Peninsular and RM15,860 in Sabah and Sarawak.

In large organizations the board of directors formulates the policy which is then implemented by the chief executive officer.
