Certificate in Planting Industry Management (CPIM)

The Certificate in Planting Industry Management (CPIM) programme is designed to meet the manpower demand from the planting industry. It provides students the opportunity to study plantation management in preparation for employment in the industry. The programme provides theoretical and practical knowledge of plantation management.
This programme is targeted at STPM or SPM leavers and field conductor working in plantation sector.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

•   STPM or its equivalent; or
•   SPM or its equivalent and •   Field Conductor.

COMPULSORY MODULES

Module 1 : Communication English
Module 2 : Basic Plantation Accounting
Module 3 : Fundamental of Management
Module 4 : Fundamental of Crop Science
Module 5 : Fundamental of Soil Science
Module 6 : Mechanization of Estate Operation
Module 7 : General Field Maintenance

ELECTIVE MODULES

Module 10 : Industrial Relation
Module 11 : Information Communication Technology in Plantation
Module 12 : Pests and Diseases of Major Crops

PRACTICAL WORK

The CPIM has a six credit hours of practical work

AWARD OF CERTIFICATE

Upon completion of the programme, candidate will receive a Certificate in Planting Industry Management from the International Institute of Plantation Management and may proceed to the Professional Diploma in Plantation Management (PDPM) programs.


COURSE FEE

The course fee for the programme is RM5,960 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM6,960 in Sabah and Sarawak.

The directors and managers who have the power and responsibility to make decisions to manage an enterprise.The size of plantation management can range from one person in a small organization to hundreds or thousands of managers in plantation management multinational companies. In large organizations the board of directors formulates the policy which is then implemented by the chief executive officer. Some business analysts and financiers accord the highest importance to the quality and experience of the managers in plantation management evaluating an organizations current and future worth.
